A snooker coach of twenty years is expanding his business by taking it to a new club in Leytonstone.

Josh Raja’s London Snooker Academy currently works in Ilford and Walthamstow and is now going to offer coaching at Pocket Aces in Leytonstone High Road.

Despite the tough financial times, the business has been able to expand and offer people the opportunity to get involved in the sport and learn new skills.

While it may be difficult for some parents to pay for the lessons, he hopes to make the sport accessible to everybody.

Mr. Raja said: “I’m not doing this job for profit, our prices are reasonable at only £10 per session, so it doesn’t cost too much money.”

“The main customers we get are young people which is good because they are sponges and take all the information in.”

Raja has worked with the likes of Gerard Greene who earlier this year finished runner-up at the Paul Hunter Classic to Ronnie O’Sullivan.

He said: “There is still an appetite for the sport, a lot of kids want to be like Ronnie O’Sullivan, and he is the biggest idol in the sport across the world.”

“Just like any other sport, snooker can get kids off of the street and we can make their dreams come true.”

“The new club in Leytonstone has the same tables that are used for World Championships and the likes of Tony Drago and Martin Gould come and play there.”
