The award-winning Liane Carroll is at the East Side Jazz Club in Leytonstone on Tuesday September 24.

The skilled pianist and singer has won praise up and down the country and scooped various accolades, including at the BBC Jazz Awards and the Ronnie Scott Jazz Awards.

She's backed up by her husband Roger Carey on the bass and Clive Fenner on drums.

Tickets are £8 on the doors, which open at 8.30pm.

The show is upstairs at The Crown pub in Leytonstone High Road.

The same pub hosts country rock The Epstein the following night (Wednesday September 25).

Gig promoters What's Cookin' say the band "strike a perfect balance between pop songwriting and rich, innovative arrangements".

Support comes from singer-songwriter Steven James Adams.

Doors open at 8pm and it's free entry - although donations to the acts welcome.

There's an open mic night at the Old Hall Tavern, in Chingford's Hall Lane, on Thursday September 19.

It is open to performers of all abilities and genres, with a PA and amps provided.

Expect it to get going from 8pm.

Entry is free.

Peter Collins and friends perform at Loughton Folk Club on Thursday September 19 in aid of disability charity PSPA.

Entrance is £3 and doors are at 8pm.

The gig takes place at the Loughton Club building in Station Road.

London folk singers Ken Hall and Peta Webb play Walthamstow Folk Club on Sunday September 22.

The show, at Ye Olde Rose and Crown pub in Hoe Street, starts at 7.30pm.

Admission is £7, or £5 for concessions.

Jez Lowe is the guest of Waltham Abbey Folk Club on Monday September 23.

Entry is £5 and the music gets going around 8.30pm.

It takes place at the Royal British Legion site in Brooker Road.
