Francis O'Donoghue is now the most wanted man in East Anglia
A suspected gunman has now become the most wanted man across multiple counties as he continues to avoid arrest.
Francis O’Donoghue, 27, is wanted in connection with a shooting on a travellers’ site near Stapleford Abbots Golf Club on August 27.
The manhunt for the glazier has intensified after an appeal on BBC’s Crimewatch last week.
Essex Police’s Superintendent Trevor Roe announced today that O’Donoghue is now the most wanted man in East Anglia.
He said: "Francis knows that we want him and his friends know we want him which is why they are doing their best to help him.
“Let us make one element clear to these people, we will look to prosecute anyone who is found to be assisting or harbouring this fugitive.”
Police are warning the public not to approach O’Donoghue as he may be in possession of a handgun.
Anyone with information in connection with this shooting is urged to contact detectives at Harlow’s Major Investigation Team on 01279 621802.
