Free housing advice at Lea Bridge library
Advice on evictions, repossessions and threats of homelessness will be given for free at a library from October.
People will be able to speak to a qualified housing lawyer from the Hackney Community Law Centre (HCLC) at Lea Bridge Library in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, every Tuesday between 11am and 1pm, from October 1.
HCLC decided to launch the new service after noticing that many of the people visiting its centre for housing advice lived in Waltham Forest.
Tayyabah Ahmed, housing solicitor at HCLC said: “We have been told that this is one of the first services of its kind in Waltham Forest.
"We deem it to be a much needed service in such a large borough.”
