New outdoor gym at Sir George Monoux sixth form college in Chingford Road, Walthamstow
Students will generate electricity to charge their mobile phones while working out at a college’s new gym.
The outdoor facility at Sir George Monoux College in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, is fitted with special fitness equipment and any excess electricity will be used by the college.
Paolo Ramella, Principal of Sir George Monoux College, said: “Through the installation of this gym, students of Sir George Monoux College have been empowered to do something positive towards their health and the well-being of the planet."
Stella Creasy MP is due to attend a launch event at the college on Thursday at 1pm.
