A ‘jazzathon’ raised £411 for a Kenyan orphanage over the weekend.
The musical extravaganza, which took place at St Mary’s Church in the High Road, South Woodford, featured local musicians Geoff Seeff and the Woodford Wheezards.
The event’s organiser, Reverend Canon Ian Tarrant, was unavailable for comment but a church representative said the event was well attended and the music and food was very good, despite the weather.
The event was part of the church’s ongoing support of Makutano Orphanage, which cares for boys orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
