The opening of a new photography studio in South Woodford was celebrated with a launch party last week.

The studio, in Marlborough Business Centre, George Lane, marked the move with an open day for clients, friends and photographers from all over London.

The day was a chance for local residents to see the studio in action, with photo shoots taking place throughout the day with a local model, as well as displays of the studio’s best work.

Studio owner and photographer Ghene Snowdon, 34, a South Woodford resident said: “The launch went really well, it was packed. The studio is quite small but we managed to fit everyone in.”

Ms Snowdon has worked in photography since 2008 and saw the area as a perfect location to set up the studio which officially opened its doors on September 14.

“Residents often walk past the studio and just come in to get their photo taken,” she said.

“We moved here as there are a lot of children growing up and going to school, but there are a lot of families in the area who are not happy with the school pictures they buy.

“They can now come to the studio and take away some lovely pictures of their children with different backgrounds, looking presentable or doing something silly.

“I love taking photos of special occasions and recently did a wedding for a local couple in St Mary’s Church, South Woodford, as well as a wedding for an 84-year-old woman and 92-year-old man.

“Before that I never thought I would see something as special as that. The work I do allows me to see all that.”
