Chingford schools to merge
An infant school and a junior school are to merge next year.
Chingford C of E Infants and Chingford C of E Juniors will become one school in April next year, the council has announced.
The two schools are currently run by the same headteacher on two sites and the children will continue to be taught in the same buildings by the same teachers.
Sue Haydon, 41, of The Bracknell in Chingford, has a daughter at the school who has just moved up to the junior school site and she said the schools are already run together very efficiently.
She said: “It’s pretty seamless. It’s managed really well.”
The council are hoping having a single primary school will make staffing and resources easier to manage.
Alison Tritschler, 41, of Brodie Road, Chingford, a mother of two children at the school, said: “It can only be a good thing.”
