Initial plans have emerged to expand a skate park to meet demand.
The council is now looking for funding to enlarge the Town Mead facility.
Jim Winter, of Waltham Abbey Town Council, said: “We are committed to trying to extend it.
"If funding is secured we’d like to get something moving by Easter of next year.”
The work will cost an estimated £75,000 and should take two to three months to complete.
Mr Winter added: "Securing the funding will be council led but the design will be left to those who know a little more about skate parks."
