Blood donors in Woodford Green needed to help save lives
9:48am Tuesday 1st October 2013 in News
A blood donor session is being held at Sir James Hawkey Hall in Woodford Green later this month.
It takes place on Thursday October 17 at the site in Broomhill Road between 1pm and 3pm, and then from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
The process takes around an hour and one blood donation has the potential to save the lives of three people.
Derek Carr, Lead Donor Relations Manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “We welcome new and existing donors to give blood and we will do our best to ensure that everyone that wants to donate is seen as quickly as possible...
"If you can free up some time in your busy schedule to help those who vitally need a blood transfusion then please come along to a session."
First time donors should be aged between 17 and 65, and should weigh at least 50 kg (7 stone 12lbs).
