Local farmers' market hits the spot
A farmers' market is thriving after being threatened with closure last year.
Wanstead Farmers’ Market, on Wanstead High Street, faced the possibility of closure last year after a rise in trader’s rents, but has recently seen a boom in profit over the past six months.
A spokesman from the Wanstead Tap, a specialist beer seller and one of the regular stalls, said: “New management has taken over and the market is currently doing better than ever.
“It is a brilliant opportunity to come along and try out produce from local businesses.
“We will be selling a local South Woodford cider amongst other craft beers from across east London.”
There is a market this Sunday, October 6, and on the first Sunday of every month.
