Tottenham fans chant "Yid army" despite police warning
Large groups of football fans ignored a police warning over offensive chanting.
Both Tottenham and West Ham fans were told ahead of Sunday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur that the word 'Yid' would not be tolerated.
However, Spurs fans were reported to have chanted "We'll sing what we want" and "Yid Army" at White Hart Lane.
The word has been adopted by some Spurs fans, after some opposing fans used it to insult the club's large Jewish following.
Ahead of the game, Chief Superintendent Mick Johnson said that racism had “no place” in football.
One Tottenham fan was arrested at half time.
West Ham won the game 3-0.
