A man has been charged with attacking a grandfather on a train in front of his young family.
Raymond David West, 49, of Chigwell Road in Woodford Green, is accused of one count of common assault and one public order offence.
A 70-year-old was punched on a train between Southend and Liverpool Street on August 23 at around 7.20pm.
He was with his grandchildren, aged six and 12, at the time.
Police later released a CCTV image of a suspect wearing a West Ham United shirt as part of a public appeal.
West is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on October 24.
