A woman whose body was found in a flat has been named locally as Junella Valentine.

A murder investigation was launched following the discovery in Harveyfields, Waltham Abbey, at 10.40am yesterday.

The death is being linked to the discovery of a man’s body in Grundy Park, Cheshunt, also yesterday, which is not being treated as suspicious.

The man, in his 30s, was reportedly found hanged.

Floral tributes have been left outside the block of flats.

One card said: “Junell, so sad you have been taken from us too soon. I miss you already and things just don’t seem real. Miss V - be bright, your friend, Emma.”

Another message left with flowers said: “Forever in our hearts, Sue, Lee, Ellie, Hanna.”
‘Uncle Mark’ wrote: “Never gone from our hearts.”

A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said he saw the woman, who lived at the flat where the body was later found, leaving the block with a man at around 4pm on Sunday.

He said everything appeared to be normal.

Another neighbour Stacey Andrews, 21, said she met the woman when she helped find her lost cat and described her as “nice”, but did not know her well.

“It’s just a shock that it’s happened. This is a nice quiet area,” she added.

The bodies are yet to be formally identified and post mortems are due to take place today.
