Nanny Twinkles in Buckhurst Hill has been transformed into a winter wonderland
A gift shop has been transformed into festive wonderland two-and-a-half months before Christmas.
Fairy lights, fir trees and all things sparkly can now be seen in Queens Road, Buckhurst Hill, after the seasonal shop opened on Saturday.
Owner Jackie Taylor has begun the countdown to Christmas early and is hoping to raise spirits in the community.
She said: “Some people have walked past and said it’s too early but we wanted to bring something fun to Queens Road.
“It’s all quality Christmas stuff, the type of decorations that you would have to go all the way to a nice garden centre for, but affordable.
“We are going to have our Christmas mascot come in for the children and do some discount evenings.”
The shop opened after Mrs Taylor, who owns another shop in Chigwell, received a positive response on Facebook to seasonal offers.
All Nanny Twinkles shops sell seasonal goods, as well as one-off gifts and furniture, but this time the family-run business decided to go all out for the season of goodwill.
Mrs Taylor also travels to homes and businesses to decorate for them.
She said: “It’s going really well. People really like the fairies and most people leave with something.
“We’ve already been asked to do decorations.
“We’re also getting involved with lots of charities this year.”
