Epping Forest street light switch off maps to be made public
Maps of the areas affected by a street light switch off program will be made available to the public next month.
Essex County Council will turn off street lights between midnight and 5am to save £1million and protect the environment.
The public consultation period on the move is now finished, but Epping Forest Council Leader, Chris Whitbread, has made assurances the district and county councils will be in ongoing discussions about the program’s implementation.
Cabinet member for highways at Essex County Council, Rodney Bass, said: "We are compiling the maps now, they are changing as we recieve different representations."
The plans are set to hit around 70 percent of the district’s street lights between midnight and 5am.
