A curry chef has been recognised as one of the best in Britain.
Abdul Malik runs the kitchen at Jamuna Tandoori in High Road, South Woodford, and impressed judges at the Curry Chef of the Year Awards.
Mr Malik was one of only 44 in the country honoured at a ceremony in London.
He said: “I am very proud with my achievement. A successful business is a team effort so this award is for everyone I work with.”
Guests at the event included secretary of state Eric Pickles, economist Lord Meghnad Desai and Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder of Cobra Beer.
