Leyton Sixth Form College hosted the 50 year reunion of Leyton County High School for Boys
The class of 1963 were back in their Leyton schoolrooms this week.
The ‘old boys’ of Leyton County High School for Boys toured Leyton Sixth Form College’s grounds and reminisced about their school days.
What is now the sixth form college was a selective grammar school for boys aged between 11 and 18, until 1968.
It then became Leyton Senior High School for Boys, catering for those aged between 14 and 18.
It became a sixth form college in 1993.
“It was a real pleasure to welcome the class of ’63 back to Leyton,” said Vice Principal Dawn Hamilton-Barret.
“It was really interesting to hear the various directions people’s lives have taken over the 50 years since they started here as young boys, including careers as musicians, librarians, the military and teaching.”
