Pensioners are being asked to join forces to fight for their rights at an event on Thursday.

The Waltham Forest Pensioner’s Convention (WFPC) is holding a meeting to talk about issues affecting pensioners from 2pm to 3.30pm at The Mill in Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow.

Chairman of the WFPC, Joel Hirsch, 65, said: “We want to give people the confidence that we can make a difference in fighting for decent lives for people.

“We are a rich country and if we can afford things like the Olympics and HS2 there’s no reason to say that we can’t look after out elderly.”
