The man elected to ensure quality policing in Essex is to take questions at a public meeting tonight.

Police and Crime Commissioner Nick Alson has recently courted controversy by stating his intention to set up a committee to monitor the force's 'ethics and integrity'.

This has been branded 'insulting' by the Police Federation, which said there are enough safeguards in place.

The audience at tonight's meeting, which takes place at Loughton Community Centre, will be able to raise any concerns they have.

The meeting, starting at 6pm, will be chaired by Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Lindsay Whitehouse.
