Parents and carers have less than one week to apply for a secondary school place for their child.
Children in Year 6 children must have an application made on their behalf before October 31 in Essex.
Ofsted reports, school information and admissions criteria can be accessed via the Essex County Council website, so that adults can make the right choice.
