Power cuts in areas across Epping Forest may continue into this evening, it has been announced.
Strong winds this morning brought down power lines supplying homes in Coopersale Lane and Abridge Road, Theydon Bois.
UK Power Networks, which maintains the supply in the UK, has engineers working on the problems, but could not give an exact timeframe for supplies to return to homes, saying it could take until this evening.
