Travellers have been warned of ongoing delays to some journeys this afternoon following the severe weather this morning.

Transport for London is reporting that there is currently a good service on the Central line, which was suspended between Leytonstone and Epping due to a fallen tree on the track.

The Victoria line is experiencing minor delays due to a staff shortage caused by extreme weather.

Greater Anglia services, most of which have not run at all today due to damaged overhead wires and fallen trees, are still severely disrupted, but there are limited services out of Liverpool Street.

A half-hourly service is running between Chingford and Liverpool Street, departing from Liverpool Street at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour and three and 33 minutes past the hour from Chingford.

A service between Liverpool Street and Shenfield is running every 20 minutes, starting on the hour from Liverpool Street and at quarter past the hour from Shenfield.

The rail operator says engineers are currently assessing damage across the network and is advising people not to travel for the rest of today.

Tickets for travel on Greater Anglia services today will be valid tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a fallen tree has partially blocked Whipps Cross Road, in Leytonstone, at James Lane.

Most road obstructions are thought to have been cleared. However, existing roadworks may cause delays.

A current list of roadworks includes temporary traffic lights and works on Sewardstone Road at Lea Valley Road, Chingford, works on Hoe Street at Browns Road and Queens Road, Walthamstow, and junction improvements on Lea Bridge Road at Poplars Road, Leyton.

No buses are reported to be on diversion.
