A suspended sentence handed to a paedophile who was convicted of sexual activity with a girl will be allowed to stand.

Last month Simeon Osen, 51, from Chigwell, was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a girl, three counts of making indecent images of a child and two counts of possessing extreme pornography.

He was handed an eight month sentence suspended for two years together with a curfew for eight months.

The case was referred to the Attorney General on the grounds of being too lenient with the possibility of a referral to the Court of Appeal.

However a spokesman for the Attorney General said today: “The Solicitor General considered that the judge applied the relevant sentencing guidelines and took account of all relevant factors.

“He does not consider that the Court of Appeal would interfere with the sentence and has decided not to refer it.”

Osen, who has been described as “a monster dressed as an honourable man” by a relative, is allowed no unsupervised contact with girls under 16 and is disqualified from working with children.
