Funky Mojoe vows to challenge decision in High Court

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Nightclub starts proceedings for judicial review Nightclub starts proceedings for judicial review

A controversial nightclub which lost an appeal against a cut to its opening hours is seeking a judicial review of the decision.

Funky Mojoe in High Road, South Woodford, has notified Redbridge Council that an application has been lodged with the High Court.

The nightclub’s opening times were brought in line with most pubs after CCTV images showed the venue had become a magnet for crime and anti-social behaviour.

A judge sitting at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court upheld the ruling on appeal last week.

Funky Mojoe was also ordered to pay £72,000 legal costs to Redbridge Council, which has vowed to challenge the last legal avenue open to the nightclub.

A spokeswoman said: "As interested party, the council will vigorously oppose the judicial review application."

Great that the Council have got the knackers to stand up to this mob who have made their neighbour's lives a misery after countless shootings, stabbings, glassings cars driving at people, urination's, fights, assaults (encompassing the entire range of the Offences Against the Persons Act), litter, vandalism and all the other anti-social issues blighting the peace and tranquility of those in the immediate vicinity.

Hopefully the Judge will see sense and like everyone else, will wonder how on earth they got away with it for so long.

With a bit of luck the owners of this obnoxious business will bankrupt themselves by pursuing a hopeless case through the courts. Just give up and go away. Only spivs and tarts want you.
