An appeal has been launched against a decision to block hundreds of solar panels from being installed in a field.
The owner of Patch Park Farm applied to install 648 panels at the site in Ongar Road, Abridge.
But the bid was rejected in September on the grounds that it was an inappropriate use of green belt land.
The farm has now lodged an appeal with the Secretary of State for Local Government, Eric Pickles.
Under the proposal, the panels would be attached to angled posts up to 2.44 metres above the ground, in 80-metre rows.
They would be used to generate two-thirds of the farm’s electricity.
