I write with reference to the 50th anniversary of the BBC Doctor Who programme on November 23.
These photographs show a Dalek made by lads in the third year of George Mitchell School in Farmer Road, Leyton, where I was an art teacher, in 1964 to 1965.
The Dalek was made from wood, chicken wire and paper mache, plus a sink plunger, and one of the boys, Graham Tant, was small enough to sit inside.
