Chewing gum theft accused to remain in custody for two weeks
A 53-year-old man accused of stealing 120 packets of chewing gum will spend two weeks in custody ahead of his next court date.
Abdulhamid Eldow, of Perth Road in Leyton, allegedly stole the items worth £50.40 from a Morrisons store in The Grove, Stratford, on Monday.
After appearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court yesterday Eldow was remanded in custody to reappear at the court on December 3 for a pre-sentence report.
