The Anglo-European School in Ingatestone has confirmed its pupils were travelling on one of the buses involved in collision last night.
The school, in Willow Green, said all pupils on the bus, which collided with a commercial bus in Epping Road, Coopersale, yesterday, were wearing seatbelts at the time.
A teenage girl on the school bus was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) in Harlow after being trapped following the collision.
The driver of the commercial bus was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital by air ambulance with injuries that are believed to be life-changing.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision and are set to release further information today.
