A private school has been criticised for the way it handles incidents involving students requiring medical treatment.
An emergency inspection was carried out at Ilford Grammar School in High Road, Seven Kings, after complaints about alleged bullying and bad behaviour.
While Her Majesty’s Inspector found no evidence to support the complaints, concerns were raised about “inadequate” methods for reporting injury or illness.
The first aid room at the £8,685 a year school was found not to be fit for purpose, having no chair or bed, while medical storage was inadequate.
Pupils’ medical records were also found not to be stored securely or confidentially.
An Ofsted inspection in 2012 rated the school as good, with high attendance and quality teaching.
The Guardian is awaiting comment from the school's headmistress.
