A 53-year-old man charged with stealing 120 packets of chewing gum also faces a slew of other theft allegations.
Abdulhamid Eldow, of Perth Road in Leyton, allegedly stole the chewing gum, valued at £50.40 from Morrisons in Stratford on Monday.
He is also alleged to have stolen 23 jars of coffee and four packets of steak from an Iceland store on September 10, medication worth £122 on September 25 and 30 chocolate bars valued at £58.70, both from Asda in Selbourne Walk, Walthamstow.
He is in custody awaiting his next appearance at Thames Magistrates’ Court, which will be on December 3.
