A large fire broke out on farm land.
The blaze, covering approximately 750 square metres, started in Vicarage Lane West, North Weald, at around 9pm last night.
A large pile of rubbish was reported to be involved in the inferno which was eventually extinguished at 1am.
Firefighters from Epping were joined by two engines from Harlow and a crew from Chelmsford to tackle the flames.
