Work being carried out on the main yesterday.
Emergency repair work on a burst water main which has closed part of a main road in Walthamstow will continue until early next week, Thames Water has said.
Forest Road will be shut to traffic in both directions between Castleton Road and Ulverston Road until December 2.
The main is on the corner of Ulverston Road and Forest Road.
The 123 bus is on diversion.
Thames Water says the cause of the problem is not yet known.
