A publicity-shy donor has given 1,200 bulbs to a nature reserve.
The gift was given to Ongar Town Council to brighten up the entrance of the Jubilee Nature Reserve in High Street, but the donor asked to remain anonymous.
The mixture of native species including Blue Bells, Anemone Blanda, Winter Aconites and Nodding Star of Bethlehem will be planted over the next fortnight.
