Police officers are to wear body cameras when they attend reports of domestic abuse.
Domestic violence has spiked across the Epping Forest in the last year, with the latest statistics showing 100 reported incidents every month.
Essex Police have announced officers will be equipped with recording technology to capture what happens when they attend reports of domestic disputes from next month.
Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh said: “Using these cameras will increase the evidence captured in domestic abuse investigations and helps support the force’s drive to have more successful prosecutions of offenders where victims are reluctant to give evidence in court.”
Twenty incidents of domestic violence are recorded on average in Essex every day.
