A fair selling vintage goods takes place next weekend.

Wanstead Vintage Fashion and Brocante Fair will be held on December 7 at Christchurch Hall in Wanstead Place, between 10am and 4pm.

A selection of vintage clothing, jewellery, books, buttons, interiors and collectibles will be available on the day, as well as a cafe providing afternoon tea, light lunches and homemade soup.

The fair was nominated earlier this year as one of the top four vintage fairs in London at the London 2013 Vintage Awards and was in the top three last year.

Organiser Cary Whitley, a Wanstead resident for seven years, ensures everything sold on the day is vintage and has a “cut-off” date of the 1980s or older.

She said: “There is always a great atmosphere on the day and we have generated a lot of interest in recent years locally and abroad.

“This is our fourth year running now and we have 34 stalls this Christmas – I have even had to turn some stallholders away.”

Admission is £2.00 and children under 14 are free.
