A terrific trio of traffic troubling potholes have been filled in the past week.

Holes in High Street, Epping, Nicholl Road, Epping, and Brook Road, Buckhurst Hill have all been repaired.

With the troublesome tarmac in Epping High Street taking just eight days to fix and the others coming only 19 days after being reported, it appears Essex Highways are taking notice of Pothole Man's crusade.

All three have now been removed from my table of shame, but there are still another 23 which require the attention of the authorities.

The total of repaired ruts now stands at seven, with three coming last month and already two in December.

I am hoping for a Christmas bonus from Essex Highways with the filling in of a few more of our perilous potholes before the end of the year.

With an estimated £800 million of repairs needed to bring roads, cycle paths and pavements back up to scratch - and with winter weather just setting in it  - it would be great to see the council being proactive to ensure the repair bill doesn’t rise further.
