Nelson Mandela was the 'epitome of showing forgiveness', according to Ilford North MP Lee Scott.

Following the former President of South Africa's death yesterday aged 95, Mr Scott said: “This is a huge loss.

"The man was the epitome of showing forgiveness. He was a wonderful man, a world leader, and a statesman.

“He showed forgiveness after spending years in prison and we should mourn his passing and celebrate his life."

On Twitter, Ilford South MP Mike Gapes said: "Sad day. The struggle was his life. Very few men or women had such a profound actual and symbolic impact on the world.”

Mandela.....Mandela; is this the same chap that the Federation of Conservative Students used to wear badges about, saying we should hang him? The present Prime Minister was very active in their ranks at the time, so perhaps he can recall.

Nelson Mandela had in abundance a quality that clearly is lacking in your character. It is known as forgiveness and reconciliation.
