The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall will visit Barkingside today to officially open a children's charity's headquarters.

They will open the new Barnardo's headquarters in Tanners Lane from 3pm.

The Queen and Camilla, the charity's patron and president respectively, will be welcomed by Peter Brooks, acting chief executive.

As part of the royal visit, they will tour the new facilities, meeting staff, volunteers, and families who have adopted and fostered.

The Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall will then unveil a plaque.

This will be the second time in two years that the Queen has visited Redbridge.

In 2012, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Valentines Mansion and Garden in Ilford as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK.

There will be live coverage on this website of the royal visit from 2pm.
