A serving police officer has won an appeal against a conviction for making 16 erotic images of children.
PC Adam Holbrook, 29, who is based in Waltham Forest, had pleaded not guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 17 to one count of making sixteen 'Level 1' indecent images of children.
The Crown Prosecution Service defines such images as depicting “erotic posing, with no sexual activity”.
He claimed they had downloaded without his knowledge as he browsed porn site Prime Jail Bait looking for adult images.
PC Holbrook received a commendation in 2007 for his work on the investigation into the murder of music producer Richie Holmes in Chingford.
Mr Holmes, 21, was shot dead in Greenham Crescent in 2005 and PC Holbrook was praised for his work at the scene along with nine other officers.
He remains suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.
