Young people were praised for their achievements at an annual awards ceremony.
Nominated by peers, teachers and parents, the winners were honoured by the Jack Petchey Foundation at Walthamstow Assembly Hall.
Winners included Shoaib Nasser, 13, from Norlington Boys School in Leyton, who was recognised for his kindness and helpfulness throughout the school, as well as his cricketing and debating success.
Ridhwaana Jarmal, 12, from Willowfield Humanities College in Walthamstow, was also praised for having a book written while in primary school published.
Waltham Forest Borough Commander Mark Collins, who was at the ceremony last month, said: “What we have seen this evening is the true face of young people today.”
