Liberal Democrats to put forward motion this week

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Proposal to ban payday loan websites from council owner computers Proposal to ban payday loan websites from council owner computers

A proposal has been made to ban pay day loan websites from all council-owned computers.

The Liberal Democrat group will put forward a motion at a full council meeting tomorrow calling for a block on the sites to be installed on computers used by staff and library visitors.

They say high cost loan companies are socially and economically damaging, a claim denied by the industry.
