Roads have been closed due to a burst water main.

Lower Hall Lane in Chingford remains closed in both directions after the main ruptured yesterday morning.

Emergency repairs are underway, but the main is not expected to be repaired until tomorrow morning, a spokeswoman for Thames Water said.

Nearby Hall Lane is also closed northbound and temporary traffic lights have been installed.

Around 200 properties in the area were without water for appoximately one hour yesterday morning.

A spokeswoman for Thames Water also said there have been "isolated incidents of properties experiencing low pressure".

She added: "Water tankers were sent to the site where the emergency repairs are being carried out, and bottled water has been given to affected residents."

Lower Hall Lane is expected to open this afternoon after 2pm.
