An 88-year-old woman was knocked down in a narrow road used by commuters.

The pensioner who lives in Pine View Manor, Epping, was crossing Hemnall Street, a minute’s walk from her home, shortly before 4.30pm when the incident happened.

The woman remained conscious throughout treatment and taken to hospital by ambulance with an arm injury.

The driver of the car invloved stopped at the scene.
