Churchfields Infants School is the only infants school in the country to be given the award in 2013

The Mayor of Redbridge has visited an infants school today to congratulate it on achieving a prestigious award.

Churchfields Infants School in Churchfields, South Woodford, was awarded the Exceptional Schools Award by the Best Practice Network in September.

The Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Felicity Banks, visited the school this morning during assembly and presented staff with the award.

The South Woodford school applied for the award in July, and is the only infants school in the country to have received the accolade.

The school has also recently been given an outstanding Ofsted report.
