As of December 16 Redbridge residents living in parking permit zones can order and renew permits online

East London and West Essex Guardian Series: Service to go online as of Monday Service to go online as of Monday

Residents living in parking permit zones across the borough can order and renew their permits online as of Monday.

This is the latest service to be launched online by Redbridge Council, and residents can be accessed on the Council's website Redbridge-i.

Cabinet Member for Resources, Cllr Ian Bond said:  "Having asked personally for this enhancement during my first year in the job, I am very pleased to see it finally being delivered.

"This is a further step towards getting as many of our services as possible online, giving residents extra and easier ways to contact the council, and saving us money in administration."

The paper-based service will remain available for people who do not have access to the internet.

To apply for parking permits from December 16 onwards, visit www.redbridge.gov.uk/parking

Well it's past noon on the 16th and there's no sign of it yet, unless I'm missing something...

On a slightly related note, the "admin fee" of £21 to return your CPZ ticket if you move out of the area is hardly an incentive to return it, is it... that's approximately 38% of the yearly ticket price!

(Not to mention the admin fee stays the same if you have a 6 month permit; therefore taking a 76% fee)

It's up and working now...the first day launch must have been jinxed by Conservatives in my ward seeking credit for something they had nothing to do with whatsoever! Try www.redbridge.gov.uk
