A man charged with attacking a 70-year-old in front of his young grandchildren is due to appear in court.

Raymond West, 49, of Chigwell Road in Woodford Green, is charged with assaulting George Douglas, 70, on board an evening train from Southend Victoria to Shenfield on August 23.

Following the attack, Police released a CCTV image of a suspect wearing a West Ham United shirt as part of a public appeal.

In October, Mr West was charged with one count of common assault and one public order offence for using threatening, abusive language to provoke unlawful violence.

No doubt will be treated as some kind of hero by he court (because that's what his defense lawyer will present to the magistrates) and he'll be let off with a pat on the back. Pathetic. West ham supporter=license to be a thug.
