Schoolgirl injured in Willingale hit and run

A 14-year-old girl was injured in a hit and run.

The incident happened in Spanishall Road, Willingale, on Saturday at about 8.50am as the girl was walking in the direction of Norton Heath.

She was struck from behind by what witnesses described as a white van, which then failed to stop.

The girl was taken to hospital with bruising to her back and head injuries.

Officers belive the van would have sustained damage to the front and are urging anyone with information to contact PC Mark Davis on 101.
