Residents joined in as carol singers braved wet and windy conditions to entertain an estate.
Members of the congregation from Church of Holy Innocents in Church Lane, High Beach, visited Gilwell Estate in Waltham Abbey, where they picked up some unexpected recruits.
Children and adults from the estate helped raise around £100 on Tuesday evening.
The group have also entertained pubs goers in the area and the church will host a concert by the South Woodford-based Churchfield Singers on Saturday at 7pm.
All efforts are hoped to raise £500 which will be donated to St Clare Hospice.
