A woman is in hospital after a bungled daylight robbery on Friday.

The 44-year-old courier was knocked to the ground and suffered multiple injuries as a man attempted to steal her white Fiat Diablo delivery van and a parcel.

The attempted robbery occurred in Brancepeth Gardens, Buckhurst Hill, on Friday at about 2.25pm after the woman had made deliveries in Loughton and Buckhurst Hill.

After failing to rob the woman, the suspect ran to a white Ford Transit parked in Whitehall Lane before driving towards Epping New Road.

The suspect is a white man, aged about 20, who was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Detective Sergeant Andy Moore, said: "I am appealing for anyone who saw the suspect driving away from Whitehall Lane and towards Epping New Road to contact police.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have a had delivery in this area and noticed any suspicious men before or after they had a delivery to come forward."
